Historical Event Here October 31 The Spencer county historical society and the public schools system of Spencer county are sponsoring an event here October 31, which will be of outstanding historical interest to all who attend. At 10:30 a. m. that day, Prof. Ross F. Lockridge, of I. U., will give a historical recital at the Lincoln flatboat landing at the river, and in the afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, at the school auditorium here, a large bronze tablet which is the work of George H. Honig, local sculptor, will be unveiled and presented to the school. The scene is called "Abraham Lincoln's Forest College." President Stewart McClelland, of the Lincoln Memorial university at Harrogate, Tenn., will address the audience. The Evansville college chorus will participate in both programs. A large number of distinguished guests are expected to be present. Students of the six high schools of the county will attend the programs. Mrs. Eugenie S. Hayden, county superintendent, has informed those arranging for the event.
