May 11, 2002 The Daniel Grass Home is a two-story dogtrot (breezeway) cabin with six-over-six double hung sashes. The lower two cabins were built then a second story was added, resting on the two with a dogtrot between them. Judge Daniel Grass was the second man to take a land grant in Spencer County, and was the first to own land in the present city of Rockport. He was a member of the Constitutional Convention of Indiana held in 1818. This double cabin home exhibits a breezeway or "dogtrot" as it was called in the early days. Front View
