This store was one of two operated by William Jones, it was located in Jonesboro (now called Gentryville). For a time, Lincoln was a clerk in this store at a wage of 25 cents a day.

Among the articles of things in the store are courting tubes which were used by boys and girls who had to do their courting in the one room cabins in the presence of old folks. Seated on opposite sides of the fireplace, they could whisper to each other through a tube and do their courting with some privacy.

Also there is a corn whiskey barrel, a butter churn, a hayrake, sausage mill, scales for measuring, baskets and crockery, and scythe and cradle.
